Surfrider Foundation – Northern Michigan Chapter, Board Member & Volunteer

I served on the board of Surfrider Northern Michigan for two and a half years as its marketing coordinator and active leader, working to rebuild the chapter's membership and presence after a period of decline. My focus was clean water advocacy, environmental education, and community engagement across the Great Lakes region.

That work included leading PFAS awareness initiatives, organizing beach cleanups, and advocating for shoreline protection and public water access. I also helped grow the Great Lakes Friendly Restaurants program by engaging local businesses in sustainable practices. Alongside outreach and event coordination, I developed the chapter's marketing strategy and digital content — work aimed at amplifying our mission and reenergizing volunteer involvement.
