Since 2023, M/K Studios LLC has proudly maintained a stretch of roadway in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula through the MDOT Adopt-A-Highway program. What began as a small commitment to stewardship has grown into a rewarding community initiative that combines environmental care with local engagement. Each cleanup involves coordinating volunteers and planning outreach to ensure smooth logistics and strong participation—all while preserving one of the region’s most scenic routes and supporting the tourism economy that sustains our area.

Beyond the cleanups themselves, this effort has strengthened our connection to the community and increased visibility for our small business, leading to a noticeable rise in local inquiries and collaborations. It’s a simple act with lasting impact—keeping the landscape we love cleaner while inspiring others to take part in caring for it.

Since launching the initiative in 2023, I’ve received over 37 client inquiries directly linked to our Adopt-A-Highway sign—proof that giving back to the community can foster authentic visibility, connection, and shared pride in place.
